District Attorney

The Sonoma County District Attorney’s Office is dedicated to providing the members of our community with a safe place to live by holding the guilty accountable, protecting the innocent, and preserving the dignity of victims and their families. We shall seek truth and justice in a professional manner, while maintaining the highest ethical standards.

Grand Jury

The Sonoma County Civil Grand Jury (CGJ) is an independent institution with the principal function of overseeing all aspects of county, special- districts and city governments in the County to ensure that the best interests of its citizens are being served.The 19 Grand Jurymembers are selected annually from applications submitted by County residents to serve a one - year term.

Sheriff's Office

Since 1850, the Sonoma County Sheriff's Office has been providing law enforcement, court security services, and detention services to the people of Sonoma County. The Sheriff's Office is comprised of over 650 employees and approximately 100 volunteers. Servicing a county of over 1,600 square miles and population of over 500,000 people, the Sheriff's Office is responsible for primary law enforcement services of the unincorporated area, the Town of Windsor, and the City of Sonoma.

Information about the library’s funding and financing program, the fee-based services schedule, circulation policy, library services, rules and details about the collection.The Sonoma County Public Law Library in Santa Rosa has been serving the local community for more than 127 years.

Probation Department

The Probation Department is committed to Changing Lives, Reducing Crime, and Restoring Community.

Adult Division

Within the local criminal justice system, the Probation Department works in association with treatment providers, mental health professionals, law enforcement, social services, as well as related agencies to intervene, guide, influence and bring accountability to the conduct of those placed on supervision in our community.

Juvenile Division

The Sonoma County Probation Department operates two facilities for young people in the juvenile justice system: the Juvenile Hall and the Probation Camp. While each of these facilities serves young people at different stages in the juvenile justice system, the common thread is an environment that allows the young people to confront and take responsibility for their criminal behavior and, in turn, to build on their strengths and develop skills in preparation for a successful return to the community.
