Ana M. Horta
I am an immigrant, a creative, bi-cultural, multilingual woman, and an inquisitive problem solver with ten plus years working with vulnerable populations in Sonoma County. Pushing for equity and reducing disparities, is my passion, and part of my daily work as a social worker that serves people with developmental disabilities and low-income seniors.
I am part of the following committees and commissions: Sonoma County Equity Community Group; North Bay Regional Center (NBRC) Board of Director’s Cultural and Linguistic Competence Committee; NBRC Disparity Committee; Sonoma County Access, and Functional Needs (AFN) Committee; Sonoma County Connected Communities Steering Committee; and Sonoma County Aging & Disability Resource Connection (ADRC) Steering Committee. In addition, from June to November 2021, I served as the vice-chair for Sonoma County Redistricting Commission.
Throughout my career, I have been honored to listen, work, and collaborate with people from different socioeconomic, cultural, and ethnic backgrounds. I enjoy bringing people together and building bridges among diverse groups by fostering trust and respect. I strongly believe and work daily toward a more equitable, diverse, thriving, and peaceful Sonoma County.
