Healthcare Coalition

A medical professional in scrubs and full PPE holds open a triage tent entrance for someone entering. Another medical professional and a first responder in reflective attire stand nearby, talking. The front of an ambulance is in the foreground.

The Sonoma County Healthcare Coalition (HCC) is a voluntary body of health and medical providers who contribute to coordinated disaster planning and response efforts. All organizations that provide health or medical services, as well as organizations whose mission is related to providing or assuring health services during disasters, are welcome to join the Coalition, to attend bimonthly HCC general forum meetings, and to participate in working committees of the HCC relevant to their missions.

The HCC is primarily funded by the federal Hospital Preparedness Program (HPP) grant. There are no fees for membership; however, partners are expected to remain in good standing, as measured by:

  • Attendance and engagement at forum meetings (held every other month)
  • Maintaining communications by responding to requests for information and ensuring documentation of current contact information
  • Training & exercise participation, including monthly drills, annual statewide exercises, and annual functional & tabletop exercises
  • Planning assistance in the form of feedback on coalition plans and requests for facility information
  • Education of your staff and leadership on the HCC and the MHOAC program
