Community Meet & Greet Scheduled for Jerry Threet

the County’s First Director for the Independent Office of Law Enforcement Review and Outreach

Santa Rosa,CA | April 21, 2016

The Sonoma County Board of Supervisors recently appointed Jerry Threet, JD, as Director of the newly established Independent Office of Law Enforcement Review and Outreach (IOLERO). The Board is pleased to invite community members to meet and welcome him on Monday, April 25, from 5:30pm – 7:30pm at the Rotunda, located at 3313 Chanate Road, Santa Rosa.

Mr. Threet was selected from a recruitment that attracted 40 highly qualified candidates from across the country following an extensive candidate selection and interview process.

“I encourage the public to come and meet Director Threet,” said Board of Supervisors Chair Efren Carrillo. “The new Office of Law Enforcement Review and Outreach has been a product of community input and involvement from the beginning, with the recommendation for its creation coming from the Community and Local Law Enforcement (CALLE) Task Force, and members of the public participating throughout the recruitment process. We hope to see continued community interest as the Office begins its efforts to improve relations between residents and law enforcement.”

Though only on the job for a few days, Mr. Threet has already begun meeting with community members, public officials, and peer professionals from similar organizations. As Director, Mr. Threet will launch the newly established IOLERO Office, including the development of a work plan that includes a citizen’s advisory board and youth council. He will work closely with the Sheriff’s Office on improving relationships and trust through transparency and community engagement.
