The Roads Division of Sonoma Public Infrastructure is responsible for the construction, operation, and maintenance of the County’s road system. We also manage road construction and other infrastructure improvement projects.

Jurisdiction
We own and maintain most public roads in unincorporated Sonoma County. This includes roads that are:

  • Publicly owned
  • Publicly accessible
  • Outside city limits
  • Not part of the State Highway System

We do not maintain state highways, city streets, or private roads.

Adopt-a-Road
Report non-emergency road issues—like potholes, broken signs, overgrown vegetation, clogged drains, or streetlight outages. The app is available 24/7 for residents, businesses, and visitors in unincorporated Sonoma County. You can also track the status of your request online. During business hours, you can also call our Road Maintenance team at 707-565-5100.

Stay informed with our road closures map, which helps residents, travelers, and contractors see where work is happening, avoid delays, and plan routes more efficiently.

Call 911 for urgent issues or immediate response, such as a tree blocking a road or flooding. For non-emeregency issues, you can use SoCo Connect or

  • During Business Hours: Call Road Maintenance at (707) 565-5100
  • After Hours: Call the Sheriff’s Office at (707) 565-2121

Immediate reporting helps crews respond quickly and keep roads safe.

Help keep Sonoma County beautiful by volunteering through the Community Roadside Clean-Up & Adopt-a-Road Program. Individuals, groups, and organizations can sign up to maintain and enhance roadways. To learn more, contact Rory Keip, Public Infrastructure Engineering Tech, or review the program manual and map.
